Consume less but better, this is the new bet of Archiduchesse with this new sneaker.
The Reasoned Basket by Archiduchesse
The sneaker you were missing
Durable, recycled and made in France.
For many years, our customers have been asking us for sneakers to accompany our socks. In response to their request, and wishing to engage in a more responsible fashion, we have developed our Basket Raisonnée: a sneaker respectful of the environment.
Created for you
It is following the request of our customers to have a shoe Made in France that we launched this adventure!
Made in France
A sneaker using French know-how, 100% made in Maine-et-Loire and certified "Origine France Garantie".
Recycled materials
Two years of research and one year of testing of these new innovative materials guarantee the durability of this new sneaker.
Durable and Slow Fashion
Two years of research and one year of testing of these new innovative materials guarantee the durability of this new sneaker.
Comfortable and timeless
A classic and timeless style to last through the years and consume less, while ensuring maximum comfort.
Low environmental impact
By favouring a short circuit and already existing materials, this sneaker limits greenhouse gases, it is an ecological sneaker.
Vegan
No animal substances have been used in this sneaker, guaranteeing respect for animals but also the use of less polluting materials.
Controlled end of life
We are committed to taking back our sneakers at the end of their life, to give them a new life and to integrate them in a recycling system.
For this sneaker, we went around the French manufacturers and selected La Manufacture 49, based in Mauges-sur-Loire, for their desire to accompany us on this project and for their design office ready to shake things up in order to integrate our "slightly crazy" request to have an entirely recycled sneaker. Two years of work and research later, we are proud to launch this eco-responsible sneaker in partnership with them.
Eco-design
From the very beginning, we wanted an eco-responsible product: durable, timeless, made in France and with environmentally friendly materials.
Design office and material research
Each component of the tennis shoe was the subject of in-depth research by the design office, for its recycled component but also its resistance over time.
Material cutting
Each element of the sneaker is cut on rolls of material with punches specifically developed for our sneaker.
The top of our sneaker is composed of 6 pieces.
Stitching preparation
The outer material and the inner lining are assembled, the excess material is cut off and the outline of the future stitching is drawn.
The stitching
The 6 pieces composing the upper of the sneaker are assembled by machine, then the eyelets are put in place and this forms the upper of the sneaker.
The spindle
At this stage, the sole and the insole (which is the backbone of the shoe) are prepared with glue.
The assembly
The sole and the upper go to the assembly line and are then assembled together after many steps requiring a unique know-how.
Finishing and cleaning
Finally, the insole is inserted, the laces are put on, the pair is cleaned and put in the box, ready to sublimate your feet!
Your recycled sneaker will be delivered in a recycled cardboard box, without padding to avoid unnecessary waste.
The recycled materials are created from existing materials (polyester, textile, polyurethane...) which are crushed into chips. Some materials are then re-spun to create spools, others are directly used to recreate new materials.
From the spools of yarn, a new material is created (generally textile) which will be a constituent of a new product based on recycled materials.
Favouring short circuits to reduce our environmental impact is a real priority at Archiduchesse, that's why we chose a French manufacturer for our sneaker, and French or European materials (for those we couldn't find in France).
At Archiduchesse, we have always advocated transparency with our customers.
That's why we tell you everything about the price of our product! 159€ it may seem expensive, so here is the explanation:
